USC has made an incredible announcement that will help students afford college. USC offers free tuition to students from families making under $80,000. And guess what?! Owning a home is not a factor. Typically financial aid factors in a student’s and their parent’s income and assets. In this case, owning a home will not be factored into the equation.
The student’s cost-of-living expenses is not covered. It is recommended that students apply for financial aid. Depending on a student’s income and assets they may qualify for federal and state grants (if applicable), which do not need to be repaid back. A student could also apply for outside scholarships to graduate debt-free. Kollege Kampus will be offering a scholarship course to teach students how to maximize their chances of winning. Attending USC tuition free and applying for outside scholarships to help with living expenses could easily save a student over $200,000.
